Accountant

The Early Childhood Investment Corporation (ECIC) is seeking to fill the position of Accountant. The ECIC, a public non-profit corporation, is ensuring a Great Start for Michigan's children, birth to five, through knowledge development and research, advancing public education and public will, increasing investment and supporting the building of local early childhood systems through Great Start Collaboratives.

Position Summary
The Accountant is responsible for all day to day accounting and financial activities of the corporation. These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: post all accounting transactions to the accounting system, ensure that all transactions are posted to the appropriate account and funding source, maintain all supporting financial documentation, prepare all check requests, reconcile monthly bank statements, maintain fixed inventory records, prepare annual 1099 forms, monitor the corporation's cash balances, prepare monthly and annual closing entries, prepare monthly financial statements, prepare monthly budget to actual statements and serve as financial liaison with outside agencies. Education and Experience Required
The successful candidate will have at least three years of experience in the accounting field and a bachelor's degree in accounting. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge in generally accepted accounting principles, governmental accounting including GASB, federal grant procedures and reports and Peachtree accounting software. CPA certification and non-profit experience are desired.

Content Web Master

The Early Childhood Investment Corporation (ECIC) is seeking to fill the contractual position of Content Web Master. The ECIC, a public non-profit corporation, is ensuring a Great Start for Michigan's children, birth to five, through knowledge development and research, advancing public education and public will, increasing investment and supporting the building of local early childhood systems through Great Start Collaboratives.

Position Summary

The Content Web Master will be responsible for developing, reviewing, editing and managing user-friendly content to support the ECIC's work in the area of early childhood development. This work would include continual updates of web content, potential video initiative, podcasts, blogs, Facebook and My Space pages as well as work with interactive tools. The candidate will be responsible for developing search engine-friendly content for the website, and will be challenged to develop content to be consumed through various digital interfaces. Education and Experience Required

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or a related field.

Regional Technical Assistance Consultant: TA Area Four

The Early Childhood Investment Corporation (ECIC) is seeking to fill the contractual position of Regional Technical Assistance Consultant: TA Area Four. The ECIC, a public non-profit corporation, is ensuring a Great Start for Michigan's children, birth to five, through knowledge development and research, advancing public education and public will, increasing investment and supporting the building of local early childhood systems through Great Start Collaboratives.

Position Summary
The position of Regional Technical Assistance Consultant: TA Area Four is a new contractual position with highly competitive reimbursement for deliverables as specified in the contract with a multi-year contract anticipated. The contract for this position is managed by the Director of Great Start Collaborative Development and Assistance. The position functions as the ECIC consultant to a regional group of local Great Start Collaboratives located in the intermediate school districts of Lenawee, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw and Wayne. Education and Experience Required
Bachelor's degree from a discipline related to the early childhood field with 7 to 10 years of related experience required. Relevant disciplines include: social work, early education or elementary education, nursing, family ecology, child psychology, public policy, etc. Experience must include working as a member or leader of a collaborative initiative on behalf of children and their families.
